What exactly is non-dual awareness?
Take looking at a tree. Normally it feels like there's someone here, looking, and a tree out there, being looked at, with a small gap between the two. With non-dual awareness, that gap isn't found. There's just seeing, with "tree" arising as part of that same seeing.
This is often what's happening in the identity shift many people hit at some point. The usual reference point for self, sitting somewhere behind the eyes, just vanishes. It drops from experience. Once the self goes, life stops being something that happens to someone, and instead, life just happens.
A timeless dimension of now opens up, and an unbroken field of awareness in which sights, sounds and sensations simply arise — not necessarily for a someone — it's just the whole experience, one big non-dual soup, being felt in a single arising, moment after moment.
