Welcome
This is a 21-day immersion, teacher training, retreat, and experience — all in one.
Whether you're just beginning to sit with the breath, or you've been practicing for years and are ready to teach, this training meets you where you are. Over three weeks in the quiet foothills of the Himalayas, you'll step away from the noise of ordinary life and into a rhythm built entirely around practice, study, and stillness.
This isn't a single-tradition retreat. Together, we'll draw from the three main schools of Buddhism — Theravāda, Zen (Mahāyāna), and Tibetan Dzogchen practice — to explore a complete map of the path to insight and awakening, as it has been taught and refined for over 2,500 years.
You'll leave with a practice that's genuinely your own — and, if you choose, the training and confidence to teach it to others.
The Path We'll Walk
Following the map of practice laid out by the Buddha, we'll move through four pillars over the course of the training:
🕯️ Samatha — The Path of Concentration Absorption, jhāna, and samādhi. The art of steadying and settling the mind, and the deep states of stillness this makes possible.
🔍 Vipassana — The Path of Wisdom Investigation, insight, and awakening. Looking clearly and directly at the nature of experience itself.
💛 Metta & the Brahmavihāras — Awakening the Heart Loving-kindness, compassion, sympathetic joy, and equanimity — the four "divine abodes," and the practices that open the heart alongside the mind.
✨ Emptiness — Dzogchen & Liberating Ways of Looking Pointing-out instructions and view-based practices from the Dzogchen tradition, working directly with the nature of mind.
Across these four pillars, you'll come to know your breath intimately, work hands-on with a wide range of meditation techniques from each tradition, and — for those who wish to go further — learn the foundations of how to teach and hold space for others.
What a Day Looks Like
The training runs on a rhythm designed to let practice deepen naturally over three weeks — not rushed, not performative, just steady.
5.5 days on, 1.5 days off each week
Weekday mornings and evenings structured around sitting practice, teachings, and guided technique
Weekend afternoons free to rest, explore the surrounding hills, or take your practice outdoors — sitting like the cave yogis who have practiced in these mountains for centuries
[Add: wake time, number of sits per day, teaching/Q&A sessions, silent periods, teaching-practicum structure for those training to teach]

Trekchö: from the Dzogchen tradition, an awareness based practice, to relax and let go in the natural state, also known as RIGPA.
Secular Non-Dual Meditation: We’ll be tapping into our innate non-dual nature, going into the senses and marinating in awareness.
Shikantaza: also known as silent illumination or choiceless awareness — where we marinate in the void of awareness. Guided meditations will be provided to flavour this method, moving from metta to stillness, and using Vipassana insight to investigate the three characteristics; not-self (anatta), impermanence (anicca) and suffering (dukkha) within and from stillness. -
In the context of non-dual awareness and integration while on retreat, there will be noble silence in the morning until 12pm. On some of the days, there will be instruction sessions, which will be more interactive.
Conversation will be allowed thereafter during meal times in the dining hall – get to know your fellow meditators, share stories and form bonds.
Outside of meal times, we remain in silence.
For those who wish to remain in silence for some / all of the retreat, including meal times, there will be silent badges which you can pin to your top, informing other participants.
-
The accommodation is the same across the retreat venue, with multiple twin or triple rooms + single beds in each room.
